Bedford Humane Society

The Bedford Humane Society is a nonprofit 501C(3) organization funded entirely by donations and gifts (not to be confused with Bedford County’s animal shelter. Located on Ole Turnpike Road in Bedford, they provide a host of services for area animals and their owners.

Currently they are constructing a no kill shelter and use local volunteers to provide fostering to animals in need.

They provide assistance for people who have emergency pet needs they cannot provide on their own.

The Bedford Humane Society also offers a low cost spay/neuter program to help control the animal population.

Services to help owners locate lost pets.

Provide humane traps and spay/neuter subsidies for feral cats through our Forgotten Felines program.

Humane Educational programs for area schools and other organizations.
